("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates qanoonihq.com and the Qanooni platform, an AI-powered legal research and contract drafting service built for corporate counsel, law firms, and professional legal practitioners in the UAE and the broader MENA region. The Company is registered in the United Arab Emirates and maintains its principal offices at Sheikh Zayed Road, One Central, Office 1204, Dubai, UAE.

Information you provide directly:

  • Account and identity data: name, professional email address, organisation name, and role when you register for Qanooni.
  • Billing and subscription data: payment method, invoice address, and subscription tier, processed through our payments processor.
  • Legal research queries: the questions and research instructions you submit to the platform to retrieve cited legal answers.
  • Contract content: documents you upload or paste into the platform for drafting assistance or clause-by-clause review.
  • Communications: messages you send to our support team or through our contact form.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage and interaction logs: which platform features you use, query response times, citation retrieval activity, and session duration.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URL, collected via standard server logs and analytics tooling.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we hold to deliver the Qanooni service and to improve it. Specifically:

  • To authenticate your account and provide access to the research and drafting platform.
  • To process your legal research queries and return cited answers from our MENA legal corpus.
  • To generate contract drafts and conduct clause-by-clause reviews using the content you submit.
  • To manage your subscription, process payments, and send billing communications.
  • To monitor platform reliability, diagnose errors, and improve citation accuracy and retrieval performance.
  • To respond to support requests and account-related inquiries.
  • To comply with applicable law, including mandatory disclosures and law enforcement requests.

We do not use the content of your legal research queries or uploaded contract documents to train AI models without your explicit written consent. Query content and contract documents are processed solely to deliver the service features you have requested.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Sharing

We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf: We engage third-party processors for cloud infrastructure, payment processing, and usage analytics. Each operates under a written data processing agreement that restricts them to acting on our instructions.
  • Professional advisors: Lawyers, auditors, and accountants who are bound by professional confidentiality obligations and whom we engage in connection with company operations.
  • Legal obligations: Where we are required to disclose information by applicable UAE law, a court order, or a regulatory authority with jurisdiction over our activities.
  • Business transfers: If the Company is acquired, merged, or reorganised, personal information held at that time may be transferred to the successor entity under equivalent protections.

5. Retention and Security

We retain account and usage data for the duration of your active subscription and for ninety days following cancellation, after which it is deleted or anonymised unless we are required by law to retain it longer. Legal research query logs are retained for service improvement and support purposes and are deleted within twelve months of submission unless you request earlier deletion.

Contract documents you upload for drafting or review are stored only for as long as necessary to complete the requested task and are not retained beyond your subscription period. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.

We apply technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, and loss.

6. Your Rights

Subject to applicable UAE data protection law and international good-practice baseline rights, you may:

  • Request access to the personal information the Company holds about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal retention obligation.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing activities.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent.
